The construction of the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre involved a complex contract that included building the reinforced concrete structure for the three floors of the car park, the four floors of the shopping centre and the basements of the future residential and office towers that make up the Vasco da Gama Shopping complex. This shopping centre has become an essential reference point for those who enjoy a combination of shopping, leisure activities and spare time.
The Vasco da Gama Centre stands out for its vast offer, with 164 shops, including 36 restaurants, a 10-screen movie theatre, a health club and 2,700 covered parking spaces. Due to the magnitude of the work to be carried out and the limited time available, an intensive mobilisation of resources was required. The construction involved the simultaneous use of 10 high-capacity tower cranes, two concrete batching plants with a total capacity of 100 m³/hour, a concrete pumping system with three pumps, concrete placing booms, 300 metres of piping and 390 workers dedicated to this project.
The Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre is much more than a shopping centre; it is an essential point of reference in Lisbon for all those who value the combination of shopping, leisure and recreational activities.
