The work consisted, in the first phase (2017-2019), of expanding the Hospital da Luz Lisboa and, in the second phase (2019-2021), of remodelling the areas occupied by the services of this health unit. The entire expansion and remodelling project contributed to a significant increase in the existing gross building area of around 79,303m2 and a greater modernisation of the space.
The new building consists of four floors below ground level, a ground floor, six raised floors and a roof or technical floor.
Floors -4, -3 and -2, with an area of approximately 8692 m2, are used for car parking and technical support areas.
The different outpatient care units occupy floors -1 to 2. The north wing of floor 3 houses the intermediate care unit, while the south wing of floor 2 and floors 3 to 6 are used for inpatient care.
