Casino Lisboa was born from the Expo 98 Pavilion of the Future, as a project to alter and adapt the building.

The construction of the Casino complied with the programme annexed to the decree order authorising the gambling concession in the Lisbon region, and which allows, in addition to the practice of gambling, the appropriate development of entertainment, recreation, culture and tourism functions.

The construction area is essentially divided into 4 spaces: entrance hall, concert hall, catering and gambling area.

Entrance hall

The entrance to the Casino is on the Alameda dos Oceanos, in the central part of the building, with a transparent glass wall that follows the circular shape and allows visual communication from the outside to the three floors where there are areas for catering, entertainment and culture. The Casino's entrance module consists of a transparent glass revolving door, equipped with an approach and security mechanism.

This hall is the area with the greatest diversity of functions, with access to the art gallery, terrace and café on the ground floor, where musical groups perform, making it a point of great visual impact.

The escalator connects floor 0 to floor 3. A panoramic lift has been installed next to the façade. The pavements on all levels are made of laminated glass modules, with lighting underneath. The walls of this public area are covered in laminated ground-glass, with lighting at the back.

Concert hall

The concert hall remained in the area of the old auditorium. A large plan that follows the circular shape, made up of transparent glass, allowing visual communication from the auditorium to the hall, with a special focus on the games room, given its location.

The room has a seating capacity for 520 visitors.

The walls are lined with acoustic panels, with the possibility of colour changes.

Catering

Located on the 2nd floor, it is divided into two areas: service and public. The public catering area is subdivided into an auditorium, buffet and games. Communication between the floors is via escalators.

Gambling area

From floor 0 to floor 3, the gaming area has a technical column in the central area that includes independent services such as bars, a pantry, cashiers and back office, an exclusive staircase for employees, a service lift and toilets.

Floor 3 houses the table games room, with capacity for 21 tables, the casino restaurant and the administration offices.

In the gaming area, the false floors made it possible to place device installation trunking for transporting energy and data, making it easy to change layouts.
