Earthworks

Initially, earthworks were carried out in the Expo 98 Intervention Zone with the aim of primary modelling of the existing terrain.

Tasks such as sanitation and demolition of existing concrete and walls were carried out. Temporary tracks were also created in the intervention area, as geotextiles and a drainage layer were laid.

Infrastructure and Paving in the Northern Area

This phase involved the construction of infrastructure networks and the paving of public spaces in the Northern Area of the Expo '98 intervention zone in Lisbon.

Paving works included carriageways, parking areas, car parks, stops including kerbing, pavements and public spaces.

The following were carried out:

- Secondary domestic and rainwater drainage networks;

- Water supply network and fire services (primary and secondary);

- Irrigation network (primary and secondary) and drainage of planted areas;

- Telecommunications infrastructure;

- Medium and low voltage electrical networks and public lighting;

- Gas network;

Infrastructure and Paving in the Southern Area

In the Southern Area of the Expo '98 intervention zone, the same scope of works was carried out as in the Northern Area, with the only addition being the extension of the viaduct at Petrogal and the wall of J.B. Fernandes.
